Scriptures teach that every member of our church is called to be a minister. In order to better equip those members in their ministries, Severns Valley offers the Discover Series. This consists of a series of classes geared to helping members and guests of Severns Valley discover: who we are (Discover Severns Valley), spiritual maturity (Discover How to Grow), and their SHAPE for ministry (Discover How to Serve). Discover classes are one-time meeting groups that are offered several times each year. If you have not yet been a part of the classes, come as soon as you can!
Discover Severns Valley
This class helps people to explore the vision and purpose of Severns Valley, the way we are structured, and how and why we do the things we do. This is a great first step for people wanting to find out more about Severns Valley or for our new members. Senior Pastor Dr. Pastor Bill Langley leads this class.
Discover How to Grow
In this class we take the next step in looking at some of the habits of spiritually mature believers and how to make those habits a part of our lives. Jeff Wilson, Associate Pastor of Leadership & Equipping, leads this class.
Discover How to Serve
This is where the rubber meets the road, where people come to plug into ministry. We will explore how you can serve and how God wants to use your God-given Gifts, Abilities, Personality, and Experience in ministry. Dr. Ray Hicks, Associate Pastor of Member Care, leads this class.
