Here at Severns Valley we are moving in one direction. That is, we are on a trajectory that leads to holiness and to a fulfillment of all things through Jesus Christ. However, no one here has always been moving in that direction. At some point we are all slaves to sin and the desires of the flesh. Yet by the glorious grace of God our hearts have been changed and made new, and we merged onto a path that leads to holiness and salvation.
We didn’t just merge alone either, did we? We merged onto a path that includes all kinds of people who are now united as sons and daughters through Christ. This is what we are about in our Merge Young Adult Ministry. Some of us are in college, some are working, and some are neither. Some of us are single and some are getting married next month. Yet we merge together for the sake of the gospel of Jesus. Even though we are in different stages of life, we all have one common goal: to become like Jesus and to make disciples of Jesus.
This summer we have some really exciting things going on for our college students and 20-somethings. We have a Thursday night Bible study and time of worship called Merge Deeper. We meet at 7:00 in the student area to praise God, study the scriptures, and fellowship with one another. It’s a great time to make new friends, share burdens, grow in faith and knowledge of God, and to just have a little fun. This is the best way to get plugged in with us.
We also have many upcoming activities that include camping, cookouts, Ultimate Frisbee, the drive-in, a summer retreat, and pool parties. You can keep up with these as they come at facebook.com/groups/svmerge.
We welcome all who will come and we would love to meet you!
